Serving Carroll, Harrison and
Tuscarawas Counties
Since its founding in 1917, the Muskingum Lakes Chapter of the American Red Cross has grown to serve over 125,000 residents of Carroll, Harrison & Tuscarawas Counties in Ohio. The Muskingum Lakes Chapter is committed to serving the community in times of disaster. The Chapter also provides services to the military and their families, health & safety courses, monthly bloodmobiles, medical transportation, and a community food bank.
The Mission of the American Red Cross is to improve the quality of human life; to enhance self-reliance and concern for others; and to help people prevent, prepare for, and respond to emergencies. The American Red Cross fulfills this Mission through services that are governed and directed by volunteers and are consistent with its congressional charter and the principles of the International Red Cross.
Making life better for the people of our area and of our nation is what the Muskingum Lakes Chapter is all about. Our staff members, board members and volunteers are dedicated to helping our local communities whenever help is needed "because help can't wait."
Each year the Muskingum Lakes Chapter:
- Responds to more than 24 single family fires,
- Provides food for over 500 families,
- Teaches over 2000 people how to respond to emergencies through First Aid and CPR classes,
- Teaches over 200 children how to swim,
- And assists more than 100 military families.
